Christmas Shopping Gift Guide Part 1

With Halloween over now its time to start thinking of what you want to order for Christmas. For some, it may be early to start shopping but its never too late to start especially if shipping is involved. Come December shipping may take longer because everyone else will be ordering online.

Another thing to keep in mind is that during the Holidays most Japanese stores are closed for about a week. During this time no order will be shipped out. This is another reason its best to start to show Christmas shopping now.

In part one you will find the sites I order from when it comes to buying gifts for friends and family.

  1. The main site I order from is AmiAmi. They let you combine everything by monthly order. You won’t need to pay for your order till everything is in stock and you will be given a few days to pay. Be warned that if you fail to pay multiple months in a row AmiAmi will ban you from the site.
  2. Mandrake is a great site to use if you’re looking for old used goods. Not everything they have in the physical stores will be found online. It is best to search by the store because if you order from different stores they will not be able to combine your orders. Customer service is a little slow but over time they will respond. Another warning is that sometimes your order will be canceled because someone else already purchased the item you wanted. This has happened a few times for me when it comes to ordering Macross goods.Screen Shot 2018-11-04 at 7.28.41 PM.png
  3. JBox is a great place if you’re looking to find Japanese snacks. They carry anime goods. I mainly use them when it comes to clothing or household goods like curtains. Be warned they also do carry some adult products and they are nice enough to cover them up at the time of shipping. Screen Shot 2018-11-04 at 7.30.56 PM.png
  4. When it comes to manga my go-to place is Kinokuniya. You can buy books in English or Japanese. If your lucky to have one near you they now have the option to let you pick up your order in store. This will save you on shipping. Another added plus is that if you’re a member you get 10% off on each item. This has saved me a lot when it comes to my manga collection.Screen Shot 2018-11-04 at 7.36.58 PM.png
  5. If your looking for DVD’s or CD’s from your favorite anime CDJapan is the place to visit. If you order from them early your order will usually come with a free poster depending on the product. In the past, I have ordered the Limited edition of volume one of Sailor Moon Crystal Bluray Music Box. Screen Shot 2018-11-04 at 7.41.39 PM.png
